all across America, many of them recent immigrants – all of them
in pursuit of the same dream. They came with their mining tools sharpened
and their hopes high. Working hard all day in the dangerous mines, they
were fired by thoughts of a brighter future. They left their homes and
families to find a land of opportunity of their very own. Many paid
a high price for following their dreams. They found only hardship in
the depths of the mines – and greed and deception in the hearts
